‘Strang3rs’ is an immersive installation that harnesses the power of two smartphones to explore the interplay between our physical and digital worlds. It was built off the ideation that came with my piece, ‘Digital Gardens'.’ With this unique piece, we invite you to embark on a captivating journey where two separate devices converge to create a unified experience.

Just as everything in our world is connected, these two phones become the conduits for exploring the symbiotic relationship between technology and our everyday lives. Through a combination of custom software and interactive elements, "Interconnected Realms" reveals the hidden threads that bind us together.

Once the QR code is scanned, the first user must then find another person to complete the experience with.

Just as everything in our world is connected, these two phones become the conduits for exploring the symbiotic relationship between technology and our everyday lives. Through a combination of custom software and interactive elements, "Interconnected Realms" reveals the hidden threads that bind us together.

Once the QR code is scanned, then the second user can go ahead and scan a plant.

Next, depending on which plant is scanned, the user is given a prompt. This is where the next user comes in.

From here, the users are given a number of different topics to converse about depending on which plant is scanned.

This sort of wall between connections is similar to what is often seen when using technology today. People often hide behind their screens in order to truly open up about what they really want to say. How can we use this to become more connected? Is there a way to overuse a screen that will somehow bring us back to each other?
